“An Ode to Monty / Just to Make You Smile”
Spray paint, 1Shot enamels & Acrylics on canvas, 46″x19″
Tyfodd y ffwlbri hwn o jôc wnes i rannu gyda ffrind ynglyn a sgêts Monty Python ‘Military Fairy’ a ddaeth yn arwyddair o fath am gyfnod ac aros yn fy mhen hyd at y pwynt lle roedd rhaid i mi ei beintio i waredu’r cythraul. Mae’n fympwyol, ond mae’n codi gwên o dro i dro (ond peidiwch a dweud wrth neb).
This stupidity came from a joke that I shared with a friend about the Military Fairy sketch by Monty Python that became a catch-phrase of sorts for a bit & it stuck in my head so much that I just had to paint it, then of course, it was necessary to hire a skellington from the local cemetery to gaze wistfully into the distance on command. He was in pensive mood.
Just to make you smile
Shake it all about side
God is in the detail, apparently.
Not on my watch he isn’t.
Oooh get her! Whoops!
I’ve got your number ducky.
You couldn’t afford me, dear. Two three.
I’d scratch your eyes out.
Don’t come the brigadier bit with us, dear,
We all know where you’ve been, you military fairy!
Whoops, don’t look now girls,
The major’s just minced in
With that dolly colour sergeant,
Two, three, ooh-ho!
A supporting cast of hard heads
And just to make a point.
“I mean, look at that Francis Bacon, amazing paintings, but let’s face it, he wasn’t happy was he.”
6am, Hungarian spirited wisdom.
